Volunteers for Literacy of Habersham County (VFL)
In order for us to achieve 100% literacy in Habersham County, the Board of Directors has voted to open membership to all those who have an interest in and commitment to furthering this mission. VFL provides several ongoing programs and projects in our community. Additionally, there are
many opportunities to volunteer:

- Assist with distribution of dictionaries to third grade students in Habersham County schools.
- Serve as a steward for one of the eleven Little Free Libraries scattered around Habersham County.
- Assist with the sale of tickets for the annual VFL Duck Race, a county-wide fundraiser for literacy.
- Assist with childcare while adults attend English language learning and citizenship classes.
- Help with the processing of donated books that are distributed to children and adults through various VFL programs.
- Assist with Family Literacy Nights at Habersham elementary schools.
- Assist with distribution of books for VFL’s summer reading programs.
Your membership in Volunteers for Literacy demonstrates your concern for and support of literacy programs and activities in our community throughout the year. The more ideas, the better!
Membership dues: $20 per year ($7 per year for students)
