VFL strives to promote the economic health and well-being of Habersham County and its residents by encouraging high school dropouts to get their General Equivalency Diplomas. VFL offers scholarships to eligible adults for GED testing.
VFL GED Scholarship applicants must be residents of Habersham County, be enrolled in a certified GED program and have completed a minimum of 40 hours of GED classroom instruction. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of Official Practice Test (OPT) scores and financial need. North Georgia Technical College offers free GED classes at its Adult Education Center in Cornelia. The Adult Ed Center is located at 166 Commerce Parkway (see map below). This is one of several locations throughout northeast Georgia where you can earn your GED. Learning Center hours for GED Prep classes are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Evening classes are taught Monday and Wednesday 4 p.m.-8 p.m.
